AdMech

This weeks showcase is the AdMech, or at least some of it. Again, I haven’t shown all the units, as there isn’t much point, as it will just be a whole bunch of repetitive pictures. Is, I’ve picked a few models to show off and will, like the other units shown off, do a full army showcase at some point.

Kitbash Marshal

The two Tech-Priest  Dominus

On for the Vanguards and one for the Rangers

Arquebus

Skitarii Vanguard

Skitarii Vanguard

The AdMech are now up to around 1000 points, and once I have found 8 more Vanguard bodies, i will probably leave them here for a while. With the Knight and a few other Agents of the Imperium units, it will be well over 1500 points and a usable army. Hopefully there will be more on the Agents units soon.

Kill teams

Something a little different this week, I say a little as it’s still a bunch of varnished and based models, however, this time they are Kill Team Models. The kill teams in question are the Chaos Legionaries and compendium Sisters of Battle and Grey knights.

While these are Quickshaded the same as the other models, they are based slightly differently. These have been based with sand rather than flock, as the kill team boards are either earthen boards or interior boards. As yet the sand is not painted and I don’t know how soon I will get around to painting and sorting them either. They will eventually be painted grey, initially with a dark grey tinted coat of PVA to seal the sand, and then a couple of dry brushes of lighter greys to add some texture.

A couple of Chaos Legionaries

Grey Knights

Not sure what will happen to the grey knights, as I don’t think they have had a bespoke team release yet. I don’t plan on upping these to a full army or anything, not even a combat patrol.

Sisters of Battle

The sisters on the other hand I do plan on expanding up. I really don’t know how much they will be expanded, probably not to a full 2000 point list but maybe a 1000 point. I’m hoping there might be a new against of the Imperium codex where you can bring forces from one of the three Inquistorial flavours.

Anyway, back to the 40k units next time!

Space marine scouts

Next up for pictures are the Space Marine Scouts. These started off as a kill team in the 2nd/2018 edition of the game which I think, apart from the commanders supplement, was the best version of the game. I’ve said it before, I don’t dislike the current edition, I just don’t like it nearly as much as the previous edition.

Anyway, the scouts themselves are very nice models and look even better now that they are fully based.

Again, not every model is here, just a selection of the models. These models will be joining the Dark Guardians first born space marines, which won't be ready for a while, although I'll be starting on them sometime this year.

Now some might notice that the snipers cloaks don't quite match with the basing material, well that's because it's not supposed to!

As you can see, they may not match the basing material and by extension, the battle mat, they do however blend in quite nicely with the main building that I use.

While not a perfect match, I think that they work quite nicely.

Deathwatch

Deathwatch are next in the Photo Booth, aka some pieces of paper on the desk. I haven’t taken pictures of all the models, there isn’t much point, as they are all the same really. I will have to get some proper army photos done at some point, once I’ve painted up the two rhinos!

First up are two of the three dreadnoughts, the first is an old push fit model with a scenic base, so its had just a few tuffs of grass on, the other two are standard bases fully flocked.

Here is a small selection of the marines. I haven’t done the transfers on some of these yet, that something to try and sort at some point soon. There isn’t much of a hurry for doing them though as I doubt I will ever have these out on the table top, as I think we’ll lose the base deathwatch vets in the new update.

Here are a few characters, Watch captain Artemis, a Chaplain and a Lieutenant with jump pack (which must have been an option at some point but is no longer an option for anyone, even in legends)

So there they are, the first fully complete, painted, varnished and base space marine army, just another 4 more to go!
